New York-based law firm GSMS got threatened by the criminal group behind REvil ransomware. Company's Top celebrity clients got disclosed with a demand of $42 million ransom.
Screenshots published on the site hinted that hackers stole documents pertaining to GSMS customers, included the likes of Lady Gaga, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Bruce Springsteen, Bette Midler, U2, Outkast, Jessica Simpson, Cam Newton, Facebook, and more.

On side of GSMS, they confirmed the statement to an entertainment news site Variety and the regards to an ongoing extortion attempt.
On the demand of $21 million GSMS offered to pay $3,65,000 only which turns into a double amount now of $42 million.
the REvil gang also released a file of 2.4 GB archive containing Lady Gaga legal documents that contain some of the contracts for concerts, merchandising, and TV appearances.
Apart from this, Hackers warned the firm to release files related to US President Donald Trump.

Although, it is not confirmed that the President is the client of GSMS.
This may be to put more pressure on the firm to pay the decided ransom amount.
